CONTENTS:
The purpose of the meeting focused on preparing all necessary things for Scouts and Young Adult Members, Scout Leaders who will participate in the 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree from 27 December, 2009 to 3 January 2010 in Philippines.
Based on the Vietnam Scouts’ invitation letter dated on 5 December 2009, Scout Leader Nguyen Thai Hung and Pham Quang Thuy responded and were present at the meeting. Scout Leader Pham Thanh Hiep – Vietnam Scouting National Council – didn’t reply and wasn’t present at this meeting.
After discussing, all participants agreed the following items:
- Organizing Committee: consists of all representatives coming from Cantho Scouts, Vietnam Scouts and other groups having Scouts who will take part in the JAMBOREE APR.
2. Uniform:
a. Ceremonial clothes: follow the Vietnam Scouts’ uniform in 1964
i. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam badge is worn on the right of Scouts’ sleeve.
ii. Vietnam Scouts scarf in JAMBOREE APR.
iii. Vietnam Scouts badge in JAMBOREE APR.
iv. Scarf button: a bamboo joint carved Vietnam Scouts badge.
b. Daily clothes:
i. Cap (dark green), embroidered Vietnam Scouts badge.
ii. T-shirt (blue and light yellow) embroidered Vietnam Scouts badge.
iii. Philippines scarf in JAMBOREE
iv. Backpack
3. National flag and Vietnam Scouts flag:
i. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam flag is hung in front of Vietnam Scouts camping, when parading it is hung on JAMBOREE flag station.
ii. Vietnam Scout flag is used for parading and hung according to the JAMBOREE regulation.
4. Souvenir: the symbol of the fine art Vietnam traditional style bronze casting drum is offered to Scout leaders in the organizing Committees, Philippines Chief Scout Executives, Scouts friends and relatives.
5. Exhibition: Scout groups attending activities in Vietnam are requested to send the organizing Committee pictures to pick out the good ones for exhibiting on “Vietnam Scouts’ activities” at the Scout Jamboree in Philippines. Each group can have pictures or films (video clip – around 2 minutes) to be shown in Vietnam Scouts’ area. The deadline sending them to the organizing committee is on 20 December 2009. The meeting ended at 17:25 the same day.
