As you know, after 26th APR Jamboree, I led a part of the Australian Contingent to VN for a visiting tour. It was a very successful and enjoying trip. We all had a very good time in VN with our Vietnamese scouts. I saw it very beneficial to both the Australian Scouts and their brother-in-Scouting in
Regarding the opportunity for scouting activity in
I have held many separate meetings with some keys leaders from some of the main groups.
When the leaders training issues being mentioned and discussed, all of them expressed their dire needs to have help/assistance from your office. Many senior leaders agreed that with the opportunity to attend training together, leaders from different groups would have better chance of learning, working, sharing and even solving together some remaining issues.
I think it is a very positive and encouraging sight.
For the training courses, they have some suggestions such as:
- Wood badge course (Advanced) for all sections, and ALT Review course.
- Time: First week of August 2010.
- Location: Wild Beach Resort,
- Training resources & Training Team: Led by APR Office.
- The following leaders (whom you already knew) happily volunteered their service:
(a) To contact the Vietnamese authority for permission: ALT Nguyen Thai Hung from CanTho Group
(b) To translate training resources and hand-outs into Vietnamese: LT Ton That Sam from Dalat Group
(c) To interpret during training time: ALT Nguyen Duy Thong from CanTho Group.
(d) To be in-charge of Accommodation: LT Pham Van Nhan from Baria Group.
(e) To be in-charge of Training facilitators: LT Nguyen Tien Loc and VietNam Scouts Group.
Some Vietnamese trainers, namely LT Phan Duc Do, LT Tran Van Hop, LT Nguyen Quoc Khanh and LT Tran Minh Thien also wanted to contribute but they were not sure of what they could contribute. Hence they are still waiting for information from your office.
They were key points about what I have collected from last trip. Should you need to further clarify any of the above matters, please let me know and I will try my best,

Yes, one of the important points we discussed during the jamboree, at the joint meeting, was to look at the possibility of holding training courses in
Regarding the level and type of the course, we have left for them to decide. It can be either a woodbadge or a CALT. My suggestion woud be to do an advance course for all sections and later we do a ALT Course.
We may have some issue in accepting some of their woodbadge course certificates and secondly we may not have enough number for a ALT Course at this stage. Hence I think it is best that we do a woodbadge course. I will also have some money to support the course but it not be enough. Therefore they need to work out a total cost so that I can try for additional assistance if that is required.
As for the timing, I would suggest second week of August if that is possible at all. First week we do have APR Jamboree in
The venue is up to them to decide and if it is a woodbadge course we will have to camp and there must be some facilities for camping plus a room for sessions and APR will organize the full staff from overseas. I had a look at the resort they have suggested and it is a beautiful resort. But my worry is weather we will have space and whether the resort will allow us to to camp for 50 people. The resort may be good for a workshop. I am also happy that they have already identified some people to be in-charge fo various aspects and also some local resource people for translation and as facilitators. As soon as they decide the level they want to conduct the course we will prepare the course out line and send all the materials, session handouts for them to translate.

Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều từ những thông tin đã được cập nhật.
Một điều quan trọng mà chúng ta đã bàn bạc tại Jam đó là tìm kiếm một cơ hội tổ chức khóa huấn luyện tại Việt Nam và kể từ đó tôi đã nhận nhiều thông tin từ hai nhóm, Họ cũng đã đề cập đến chuyện tổ chức và sắp xếp để cho APR tổ chức khóa đạo tạo tại Việt Nam. Tôi sẽ trao đổi thông tin với những thành viên của hai nhóm khi họ tham dự khóa huấn luyện quản trị cấp cao tại Ấn Độ vào tháng 3. Bốn thành viên từ hai nhóm sẽ tham dự khóa học này và tôi cũng sẽ hỗ trợ họ một ít.
Về chuyện trình độ của khóa, chúng tôi sẽ để cho họ thảo luận với các bạn và quyết định. Nó có thể là khóa bằng rừng hoặc là khóa CALT. Theo ý kiến của tôi thì nên tổ chức một khóa bằng rừng nâng cao cho tất cả mọi người và sau đó là một khóa ALT. Chúng tôi có một vài vấn đề về việc chấp nhận giấy chừng nhận bằng rừng đã được cấp của một số người và từ đó chúng tôi lo ngại là không có đủ số người tham dự để tổ chức khóa ALT. Do đó tôi nghĩ rằng tổ chức một khóa bằng rừng là tốt nhất. Tôi cũng sẽ hỗ trợ chi phí cho khóa này nhưng có thể sẽ không đủ, do đó tôi cần các bạn tính tóan tổng chi phí cho khóa học và thông báo cho tôi biết để tôi có thể xin hỗ trợ từ những nơi khác.
Về thời gian tổ chức khóa học, tôi đã đề nghị là tuần thứ hai của tháng 8 nếu như được cho tất cả mọi người. Tuần thứ 1 chúng tôi có APR Jam tại Hàn Quốc và cuộc họp hội đồng tại Hàn Quốc. Từ ngày 16 đến 18 tháng 8 chúng tôi có cuộc họp quản trị tại
Địa điểm thì tùy vào quyết định của các bạn và nếu như là khóa bằng rừng thì chúng ta sẽ có cắm trại và đó phải có những vật dụng cần thiết để tổ chức trại và phải có phòng cho khóa học và tòan bộ giảng viên sẽ do APR đề cử từ các nước. Tôi đã có xem thông tin về resort mà các bạn đưa và nó là một resort rất đẹp. Nhưng điều tôi lo ngại rằng là thời tiết và liệu resort có cho chúng ta cắm trại với số lượng người là 50 hay không? Resort có thể tốt cho một hội thảo. Tôi rất là vui khi các bạn có cử một số người bản địa hỗ trợ huấn luyện tại khóa như là dịch thuật, giúp ích. Chúng tôi gởi đề cương chi tiết, các vật dụng và tài liệu cho các bạn để được dịch ra khi các bạn quyết định về trình độ của khóa.
Tôi hy vọng rằng những thông tin kể trên là có ích, tôi mong muốn được thông tin từ họ. Tôi cũng gởi thông tin này cho ông Phạm Thanh Hiệp và ông Phạm Quang Thùy để có phản hồi về việc đã nói bên trên.
